Pipe & Tube

What's the difference between Pipe and Tube?  Well, the short answer is all pipe is tube, but not all tube is pipe.  Pipe is a sub classification of tube.  In many cases pipe size designations have no actual measurement on the pipe.  Pipe sizes are referred to as "nominal" pipe sizes and for sizes 12" and below are close to the internal diameter, but they are not actual dimensions.

Hayward Pipe distributes pipe in dozens of materials ranging from 1/8" NPS (nominal pipe size) to 48" OD and from .049" to 3" wall thickness.  We've listed the most common industrial and commercial Pipe & Tube materials below.
